Charity Stall

As in previous years, Wakefield ’09 will once again have a charity stall. The stand has raised nearly £14,000 for charities over the years, all thanks to your generosity. This year we will once again be fundraising for the Wakefield Hospice.

Wakefield Hospice

Recycling printer consumables and mobile phones

This year, we will be accepting unwanted mobile phones and used printer ink cartridges and toner cartridges for recycling on the charity stall, on behalf of Wakefield Hospice. Just bring them along to the show, and deposit them in the boxes provided on the stall. Please make sure that the items are securely bagged and clearly labelled, and in the case of mobile phones it would help to include any chargers and accessories, but do remove the SIM card beforehand.

Donating to the charity stall

Unfortunately, as has been the case in recent years, the Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations limit what we can accept for sale on the charity stall, since we would have to pay for the disposal of any unsold large electrical and electronic items like computers, monitors and printers.

Large items

We can accept a limited number of base units (ie. RiscPCs, A7000+s and Iyonixes). These should be brought to the stand as early as possible, to allow maximum time to sell them on, and we would suggest contacting us in advance to confirm that the items in question are OK. If any of these are not sold by the end of the day, a dealer has agreed to take them away to save on disposal charges.

Unfortunately, we can no longer accept printers and monitors, due to the problem of disposal; we can also not accept non-RISC OS systems. If you have any of these for disposal, why not consider Airedale Computer Recycling or Oxfam?

Small items

We are happy to accept any small items (eg. memory, expansion cards, books, magazines, software, etc). Anything remaining unsold at the end of the event will be disposed of.

Delivering items

Items for sale on the stall can be contributed on the day.

Deliveries of goods before the Saturday of the show can be sent to Wakefield Hospice at the following address:

FAO of Terry Rigg and Wakefield Show 2009
Wakefield Hospice Trading Ltd (Warehouse)
Units G & H
Tadman Street
WAKEFIELD
WF1 5QU

Items can be dropped off in person between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, and between 8.30am and 4.00pm on Friday.
